Consider These Staircase Types For Your Custom Home

For multilevel custom homes, the staircase is a vital element within the interior of your home. When building a staircase, you can establish various designs for your unit. Before mapping out any plans, you should ensure that your staircase not only fits your home but is also compatible with the overall design of your home. Below are several types of staircase options for your home.

These staircase options are a must for any two-story home.

Straight Staircases

These are your traditional-looking staircases and are commonly featured within many residential properties across the United States. With this setup, you can make your railing stand out with a proper shine or opt for a basic wooden railing for your stairs. Many people often use straight staircases that lead to a bathroom or bedroom

L-Shape Staircase

You may have heard of or seen L-shaped staircases before. They are also known as and often referred to as quarter-turn staircases. After the straight staircase, the L-shape is the second most commonly seen in many homes.

U-Shape Staircase

U-shaped staircases are visually appealing and provide aesthetic effects for your custom home. They are also known as half-turn or switchbacks by home design experts. Although these staircases are more expensive, they are well worth the investment. It would help if you kept in mind that it can be challenging to carry large items up these stairs.

Winders

Winding stairs are much more commonly featured in older homes, but they can add a nice element to a custom home. Steps wind as they go up from the bottom to the top. They look much better in tiny houses but tend to be narrow, so it is much harder to walk through them.

Spiraled Stairs

Spiral staircase designs are another trendy choice for custom homes. They make for a fantastic solution when interior space is at a premium. These stairs are only supported by a single post. As such, it’s more than likely that you’ll need at least one other, more conventional staircase in your home as well.
